In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn various methods of eco printing on silk. Eco printing is a process resulting in a colorful print of the plant on the fiber. During the workshop, each participant will create a printed silk scarf to keep. Additionally, the workshop will cover scouring and mordanting, responsible plant harvesting and preparation for printing, local dye plants, color modifiers, and necessary equipment and supplies for home eco printing.

The workshop will run from 8:30am-4:00pm, with a one hour break for lunch. Light snacks will be provided, but participants should bring a sack lunch. Following the workshop, at 6pm participants are encouraged to return to the Art Mine for an informal presentation and discussion of their printed scarf.

Each workshop costs $150.  Participants can take both workshops for $250.  There will be some minimal topic overlap for those taking both workshops.  Please register to reserve your spot at www.womensworkstudios.com.
