In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to create three different dye baths from Montana plants. Each participant will create a dyed silk scarf to keep from one of the dye baths. Additionally, the workshop will cover scouring and mordanting, responsible plant harvesting and preparation for dyeing, local dye plants, color modifiers, and necessary equipment and supplies for home dyeing.
The workshop will run from 8:30am-5:00pm, with a one hour break for lunch. Light snacks will be provided, but participants should bring a sack lunch.
Each workshop costs $150. Participants can take both workshops for $250. There will be some minimal topic overlap for those taking both workshops. Please register to reserve your spot at www.womensworkstudios.com.
